Through sheer chance I have come one step closer to the realisation of that most wondrous fantasy foodstuff, the egg supper. In the recent ‘Eggs Factor’ (no, really) competition the redoubtable Sergio Neale produced a quite marvellous gustative treat, deep fried egg with pea, bacon and chicory salad Deep fried egg! The most important component of an egg supper! Needless to say I’ve been leaping about with sheer excitement, clapping my hands and making a variety of whooping sounds. All we need now is for some brave chip shop proprietor to put his or her best deep fat fryer forward and make the egg supper a reality.
